Installing blinds on the top of vessel

A Turner Crew was working to remove a 3 150 flange spool approximately 6 ' long which was located under a tank. The employees had loosened the bolts on both ends of the spool and the spool had some residual in it the crew was allowing it to drain and the operation was washing down the area. The crew then proceeded to move to the top of the tank to install a blind. Once the blind was installed and operations had completed the wash down the crew proceeded to loosen bolts to remove the spool In the process of removing the spool it slipped and fell causing it to pinch the employees right index finger.
