Lifting parcels from wire onto conveyor

7 20 23 FT Clerk claims while removing heavy parcels from wire containers and placing them on to the conveyor he injured his lower back. Employee states the lift was inoperable forcing employees to lift manually resulting in the injury. Management states the employee was instructed to grab a lift from another section but employee failed to follow instructions and continued to lift unsafely even after observed doing so and instructed to cease and obtain a working lift.
