Before the incident
Employee was performing a cleaning operation changing filters in the silos’ top floor and bringing some used filter cages down to the bottom floor for them to be disposed of.
What happened
The employee stated that as part of a cleaning operation they changed filters in the silos’ top floor and needed to bring some used filter cages down to the bottom floor for them to be disposed of. The employee used a trash can to carry the cages and decided to put ten of them inside the can to avoid going up and down the stairs many times since silos area is 5 floors high and is a hot place to be working in. When pulling the trash can down the stairs one of the cages shifted and hit the employee on their superior right side of their face (right eyebrow) causing a cut.
