Dog bite to right leg after Express Parcel delivery when returning to vehicle.

What happened

DOG BITE - [REDACTED] on [REDACTED] [REDACTED] was delivering an [REDACTED] Parcel when he noticed a longhaired black and white dog keeping distance non-aggressive. The carrier kept his dog spray in his right pant pocket. He rotated his delivery vehicle in the driveway to face the street. The dog remained at a distance then left and went to the back yard. The carrier proceeded to the residence and dropped the parcel at the front door. Upon returning to the delivery vehicle the carrier reached for the door handle and the dog bit the carrier on the leg breaking the skin. The carrier was delivering [REDACTED] Mail and did not know the dog was the there. Animal Control was not contacted. The carrier did try to defend himself with his tools. In the future the carrier will use the Left Notice process for deliveries to this address.
