Before the incident
walking backwards from inside trailer towards [REDACTED] that had been lowered without his awareness Trainer had just lowered [REDACTED] to inspect for possible damage when another vehicle had just backed up into [REDACTED] Trainer failed to notify trainee that gate had been lowered Trainer looked back toward trailer and [REDACTED] just as trainee walked backward off end trailer landing 4 ft below onto lowered [REDACTED] platform

Trainee trainer were both working inside back of parked trailer servicing Tapped [REDACTED] Other party backed into raised [REDACTED] Trainer lowered [REDACTED] to inspect for possible damage with other driver Trainer DID NOT warn or caution trainee who was still in trailer that [REDACTED] had been lowered Trainee was walking backwards toward [REDACTED] but unaware it had been lowered to ground level He fell backwards off end of trailer landing on lowered platform Trainee struck his head and upper torso 1st and he landed onto platform This was at least a 4 ft fall from trailer level Trainer called supervisor to report incident and that trainee was dazed and dizzy Trainee declined immediate medical response He sat rode in truck cab with trainer watching him closely They did stop and drop off injured trainee at [REDACTED] Silver Lake ER center approx 2 hrs after the incident for medical attention Trainee subsequently declined CT scan recommendation by [REDACTED] staff citing concern for
