What happened
I was attempting to push the protective sheath up over the butterfly needle tip These particular butterfly needles are fairly new to me and I was having a difficult time getting the protective sheath to push up when the needle pricked my index finger It was a minor stick but did draw my own blood I did not have a sink but I immediately took out an alcohol swab and wiped my fingertip for about 30 seconds Once off scene I went to a gas station and washed my hands with warm soapy water
