Employee was working on replacing a bearing for a compactor blower motor. To access the area the injured employee had the equipment powered off and locked out and then had to climb over the motor with the top cover guard removed. After performing the work on the back end of the motor the employee began to climb back over the motor to get to the other side.

When the employee was climbing back over the motor their right shoe stepped onto the corner of the motor belt housing. His right foot slipped out from under him and he fell to his knees on the ground. As he was falling to the ground his right buttock contacted the corner of the motor housing resulting in a laceration. At the hospital employee noted oil lubricant on their right boot which may have contributed toward the slip and fall.
