Before the incident
Cleaning out a clogged drain
What happened
EE was cleaning out a clogged drain sink in the custodian 's closet. The drain was full of two+ bottles of drain cleaner prior to EE beginning to work on it. While using a drain bladder to clear out drain the drain bladder expanded. The bladder seal did not hold and exploded causing the drain cleaner and water mix to go onto EE 's face and left eye. EE was taken to an occupational doctor for face burns and left eye irritation. Occupational prescribed an eye antibiotic.
