The employee was using an electrical grinder cutting a piece of metal while wearing his full PPE including his gloves

On [REDACTED] at approximatley 1040 JSR Steel Shop Employees were in the process of cutting off an electrical service hanger from the framing via electrical grinder in Main Engine Room # 2 (4-254-0-E) Upper Level onboard [REDACTED] ([REDACTED]). JSR Steel Shop Employee commenced cutting electrical service hanger from the framing with the electrical grinder in his left hand and held the piece in his right hand. JSR Steel Shop employee attempted to cut through an existing bolt attached to the electrical service hanger the cutting disc got wedged and the electrical grinder kicked back and made contact with his right hand causing a laceration between his thumb and index finger. The employee was wearing his full PPE including gloves at the time of the injury.
