What happened
After packaging the components in a wooden box the employee screwed the lid closed. The screw caused the wood to splinter without seeing the splinter the employee ran her hand around the top of the box as she walked away. A large toothpick size sliver of wood penetrated the full width of the ring finger.

Wood splinter in the ring finger. A part of the splinter was pulled out from one side of the finger with a majority of the splinter still lodged in the finger.
