Before the incident
Performing Spring Shoot as required by the Department. The employee was wearing the fatigue uniform ballistic vest pistol and utilizing the patrol rifle. He was wearing protective glasses and hearing protection as well.
What happened
The employee suffered burning pain and discomfort in his eyes which cleared up with water flushing and time. A while later he became aware of burning along his beltline right side and assumed it was heat related. Upon finishing the range training the employee went home to shower and obtain clean clothing when he noticed a rash. The rash worsened blistered and starting oozing a green puss.
