Running the edger in a training capacity; standing at the main operator console at the edger lug loader flipping boards running the line etc. The normal operator was standing beside him watching him run.

The employee was running the main edger operation console. He had a large slab wane-down at the lug loader that he flipped onto the scanner infeed chain. Once he flipped the board he looked towards the screen to check that the outfeed and edgings belt was clear of debris hit the foot petal for the next board to fall down the decline chain towards the lug loader and used his left hand to reach for the board. As his head was turned towards the camera he did not notice a doubled-board falling from the top of the white lug chains towards the lug loader. His hand was resting on the next board on the lug loader and the doubled-board from atop the white lugs struck the side of his left pinky finger against the resting board.

Pain swelling and bruising on left pinky finger.

Roughly a 6 rough cut edger slab of wood.

Tendon injury to left pinky knuckle when finger was smashed between two boards while adjusting board.
