Before the incident
Operator picked a load up off of the rail car with the crane he was standing in between the load and a rack full of small rod bundles. When he went to move the bridge north the crane didnt move he then held the control in until the crane took off north. He tried getting out of the way of the load when the crane started moving north and tripped over a bundle sticking out of the end of the racks. When he tripped over the bundle his ankle made a loud popping noise.
