Before the incident
Employee was using a needle and string to stitch a tissue donor 's leg when the employee accidentally poked their right index finger with the stitching needle. Prior to this the employee was putting on gloves preparing the needle and had already done a few stitches.
What happened
The employee had been half way down the leg when they miscalculated their finger placement on the needle and quickly poked the tip of their index finger with the needle tip. The employee was using their right hand to push the needle through the skin. Once they pushed the needle through they held it with their left hand while pulling the slack of the string with their right and then while going back to grab the needle with their right hand they poked it.
