Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of serious injury caused by possible explosion of low explosives stored in excess of recognized limits: a) Lower Level of Main Building Lower explosives were stored in excess of the 501b Maximum limitation for indoor storage as required by 27 CFR 55.210(b)(1). A feasible and available method of abatement is to remove the excess explosive material to other buildings or to an outdoor storage facility. Violation observed on or about 3/14/91
