Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a  place  of  employment  which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to  cause
death or serious physical harm to  employees  in  that  employees  were
exposed to the explosive or fire hazards related  to  heating  of  pre-
ssurized hydraulic cylinders during  the  maintenance  or  repair  work
procedures:  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement
method to correct this hazard is to provide a formal  training  program
which would educate the exposed employees to the hazards of using  heat
and air pressure during the take down of  the  hydraulic  cylinders  in
their daily assignments and the steps which they should take to protect
themselves from these hazards:
Maintenance Shop - The maintenance employees were not trained
to repair the hydraulic cylinders for the peerless truck
dumper unit.
