Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to explosion and fire hazards while transferring aluminum powder between conductive and nonconductive containers: a.Stock Room, Dennco Inc. --- Employee(s) transferred aluminum powder, Summit Screen Ink, Aluminum 1400, X-Fine, product code K-89896, from a conductive metal container to a nonconductive plastic container exposing employees to potential explosive/fire hazard(s) that could result from static electric charge buildup. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to insure that all containers are conductive and properly grounded and bonded together when pouring or dispensing aluminum powder to/from drums or other containers.
