Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Senate Airway Tunnel - Bent rebar in walkway/work area, was not provided covers or planking, thus creating a trip/fall hazard for those settings drains in the area. One feasible means of abatement would be to follow the Life Safety Code Handbook sections 31-1.1.1 and 31-1.2.1, whenly maintaining adequate escape facilities at all times for construction workers, and exits/exit access should be continuously maintained free of all obstructions or impedepiments.
