Code of Virginia: 40.1- 51.1.(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that the did not identify a structural beam 's rated load capacity when the beam was used to support a materials handling hoist. There was no marking to indicate that the beam's rated load capacity was sufficient to support the hoist's rated load capacity. "One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to determine the beam's rated load capacity is sufficient to support the hoist load capacity and attach a label stating its load limit."
