Section 5 (a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) Employees installing vertical studding for fascia from the structural iron framework and roof at the southeast corner of the building were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 24 feet to the ground, on or about 10/28/88. One feasible and acceptable abatement method, among others, to correct this hazard is to enforce the utilization of safety belts and lanyards.
