Section 5(a)(1) of the Occapational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recoginzed hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to
the serious hazard of falling material such as tools, debris, equipment
parts and the like, from overhead while working in elevator shaft #1.
A feasible and useful method to correct this hazard among other methods,
is to provide complete overhead protection. This could be done by
fastening the protective material to the overhead members of the car
platform:
a) Jobsite: Building #20, elevator #1.
