Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
a.   A crushing hazard created by the sudden and
unpredictable
descent of vehicles elevated overhead by
hydraulic overhead automotive lifts.

with automatic lock assembly missing.

abatement method to correct this hazard is to:
1.   Install and/or implement weekly inspections.
2.   Establish and implement weekly inspections.
3.   Instruct all employees in the proper use of
safe devices and ensure their routine use.
4.   Post manufacturer's operating instructions
