Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the Education Department, Scholar District Bayamon II; it had evidence
of water
spots and cracks through the ceiling, due to its deterioration.  The
employees were
observed performing clerical tasks.
Hazard: Slips and falls.
Among other correction method, some feasible and acceptable methods to
correct this
hazard is, repair the ceiling.
En el Departamento de Educacion, Distrito Escolar Bayamon II; existia
evidencia de
manchas de agua y grietas a traves del techo debido al deterioro del
mismo.  Los
empleados fueron observados en sus tareas de oficinas.
Riesgo: Resbalones y caidas.
Entre otros metodos de correccion, un metodo factible y aceptable para
corregir este
riesgo es, reparar el techo.r

estaban expuestos
a:
At the Education Department, Scholar District Bayamon II; where the
employees worked
performing clerical tasks, were observed six instances in wich the
ilumination in the area
was not sufficient enough to make the tasks in a safe and heathful manner.
For efficient
visual performance in general offices spaces recomended by the ANSI 132.1
should be
150 footcandles.
a. Secretary office, second floor; 20 footcandles
b. Secretary office, second floor, recordkeeping area; 0 footcandles
c. Corridor area, second floor; 0 footcandles
d. Special Education area, first floor, recordkeeping area; 0 footcandles
e. Special Education area, first floor ;32 footcandles
f. Title I area, first floor; 50 footcandles
Hazard:  Low visibility due poor illumination.
One feasible and acceptable method of abatement is, to change the
flourescent lamps in
the area.
En el Departamento de Eduacion, Distrito Escolar Bayamon II; donde los
empleados
trabajaban realizando sus tareas de oficina, se observaron seis casos en
los cuales la
iluminacion en el area no era la suficiente para realizar las tareas de
una manera segura
y saludable.  Para un funcionamiento visual eficiente en espacios de
oficina recomendado
por el ANSI 132.1 debe ser de 150 pies bujias.

f. Area de Titulo I, primer piso; 50 pies bujias
Riesgo:  Poca visibilidad debido a pobre iluminacion.
Un metodo aceptable y factible para corregir la condicion es, reemplazar
las lamparas
fluorecentes.o
