P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being thrown from mobile equipment: a) Shop/Assembly area - Employees were operating lift trucks including but not limited to the Clark lift truck (S/N Y685-140-3962) and Yale lift truck (S/N P313537); neither lift truck was equipped with seat belts, on or about 08/27/97. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to install seat belts and enforce their use.
