Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the cooling section of the storage area of the establishment: The
employer did not
provide the use of a safety cover device to protect a 100 watts lamp,
which was set at
60 inches from the interior floor level and next to the entrance on a
cooler with two
chambers; exposing the employees to the hazard of entrapment due to
serious
eye and
face injuries, from impact and explosion of the lamp.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is to replace anew the safety cover device of the lamp.
En la seccion de refrigeradores del establcimiento: El patrono no proveyo
el uso de un
dispositivo de cubierta de seguridad para proteger una bombilla de 100
vatios, la cual fue
montada a 60 pulgadas del nivel del piso interior y cerca de la entrada en
un refrigerador
con dos camaras; exponiendo a los empleados al riesgo de entrampamiento
debido a
lesiones serias de los ojos y la cara, por impacto y explosion de la
bombilla
Entre otros metodos, un metodo accesibe y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo es
reemplazar de nuevo el dispositivo de cubierta de seguridad de la
bombilla.
