Employees were exposed to serious injuries caused by falls when using a 25
feet fiberglass
extesion ladder, trademark Stanley in the Warehouse of GT Torcos Inc. to
put mercandise or
take down merchandise from racks when climbing up and down the ladder with
articles in their
hands. The maximun height was 18 feet.
Among other methods, one feasible and acepted method to correct this
hazard is to provide
stands insted of portable ladders.
Empleadis estaban espuestos a lesiones serias causadas por caidas cuando
usaban una escalera
de fibra de vidrio de extencion de 25 pies, marca Stanley en el Almacen de
GT Torcos Inc. para
subir o bajar mercancia de los anaqueles cuando subian o bajaban la
escalera mientras sostenian
articulos en sus manos.  La altura maxima era de 18 pies.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptado para corregir este
riesgo es proveer escalera
de plataforma en vez de escalera portatil.
