Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act: The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:

El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
This employer was cited due to the established in the ANSI/IESNA
RP-1-1993,
which
state the following; the illumination range to officces tasks is between
50 footcandles to
150 footcandles.
Lack of illumination due lamp's malfunctions where employees were
performing clerical
tasks such as; data entry, writting documents, filing documents and others
clerical tasks.
At WIC Program in Trujillo Alto CDT at the certifier official area the
illumination was
5 footcandles and certifier assistant area the illumination was 39.5
footcdles .
Among others methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct is the
lamp repair.
Este patrono fue citado debido a lo establecido en el ANSI/IESNA
RP-1-1993, cual
establece lo siguiente; el rango de iluminacion para tareas de oficinas
esta entre 50
footcandles a 150 footcandles.
Falta de iluminacion debido mal funcionamiento de las lamparas donde los
empleados
estaban realizando tareas tales como; entrada de datos, escribiendo
documentos,
archivando documentos y otras tareas clericales. En el Programa WIC del
CDT de
Trujillo Alto en el area de oficial certificador la iluminacion fue 5
footcandles y en el
area de asistente certificador la iluminacion fue de 39.5 footcandles.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir es el
arreglo de la
lampara.
