Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to the hazard of being caught between moving trucks and/or
machinery:
a)  At Weld County Rd 47 and Highway 52, Hudson, CO. (Don Ward & Co.
jobsite):
Employees engaged in the loading of semi trucks from rail cars were
exposed to crushing
hazards.  In that while placing the skirting of the auger in the truck
hatch they could be
caught between the truck and the auger head.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct would be to
perform a site hazard analysis and then implement a site specific safety
plan.  This plan would
cover the areas of assigned responsibilities, standardized signals,
procedures,
and nay other
pertinent concern.
