General-duty citation text

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that
employees were expose to:
a.  Bays One through four, and the Two outside driveway areas - On or
about October 20, 1998,
employees were required to work under fully extended hydraulic alignment
racks without
permanent safety latches or other means to prevent the racks from coming
down in the event of
hydraulic failure. The employees were thereby subjected to the possibility
of being struck by a
vehicle or caught between a vehicle and the floor.
Among other methods, One feasible means of correcting the hazard is to
install the safety latches
so as to conform to the specifications, referenced in ANSI "B153.1 Section
3.1.10/1974".
NOTE:  29 CFR 1903.19 REQUIRES THAT YOU PROVIDE CERTIFICATION AND
DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT FOR THIS ITEM.
