Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employmnent and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to:
The hazard of being crushed in the rotating parts.
a) First Floor, Randolph High School;
Employee(s) operated a Rigid 300 Pipe Threader that was not equipped with
a moment contact
device as required by the American National Standards Institute, ANSI
B208.1-1982, Section
4.4.  One feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to install a
constant pressure foot
treadle switch so that the if employee(s) are caught in the equipments
rotating
parts, the
equipment can be easily shut off.
Violation occurred on or before 7/29/98
ABATEMENT NOTE: This violation requires documentation AND certification of
abatement.
