Employees operating powered industrial trucks ( clamp trucks ) including,

the Nissan 905L clamp truck were exposed to the hazard of being thrown
from the truck and
struck by the truck or overhead guard in the event of truck tipover, or
being knocked out of the
truck and struck by falling paper rolls, in that employees were not
required to wear the seat belts
provided in the powered industrial trucks ( clamp trucks ).
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard would be, in
accordance with ASME B56.1 The American National Standard for Powered and
Nonpowered
Industrial Trucks, to require the use of the seat belt system that was
installed in the truck.
