Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a crushing/struck-by hazard: a) Loading Overhead Dock Doors numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 17, 18, 25, 29, 31, 39, 43, 47, 48, 53, 54, 56, 57, and 58. Employer failed to repair or remove from service severely damaged overhead dock doors. Violation observed on or about 12/18/00. "Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to follow established inspection procedures for overhead dock doors, and to make required repairs promptly."
