Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees
in that employees
were exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Falling hazards causing severes contusions, lacerations, fractures and
abrasions.
a)Employees were working daily as merchandise dispatchers such as
televisions,
stoves, washing machines etc which are located inside of two storage
wagons.
They use wood pallets with some broken, worn out and unstable tables for
access to such wagons and distribute the merchandise due to the fact that
they
did not have placed fixed stairs or ramps which are secure at the moment
when they are performing their tasks.
Location:  Storage wagons of the company P.F. Store Inc., located in San
Sebastian, P.R.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is the placing of fixed stairs or ramps to both wagons
which are
secure for employees when they are performing their daily tasks.
Riesgos de caidas ocasionado contusiones severas, laceraciones, fracturas y
abrasiones.
a)Empleados estuvieron trabajando como despachadores de mercancia tales
como
televisores, estufas, lavadoras etc. las cuales estan localizadas en el
interior de
dos vagones de almacenaje.  Ellos utilizan paletas de madera con varias
tablas
rotas, deterioradas e inestables para el acceso hacia dichos vagones y
distribuir
la mercancia debido al hecho de que ellos no tienen colocados escaleras
fijas o
rampas, las cuales sean seguras al momento cuando esten realizando sus
tareas
diarias.
Localizacion:  Vagones de almacenaje de la compania P.F. Store Inc.,
localizada en San Sebastian, P.R.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo factible y aceptable para corregir este
riesgo
es la colocacion de escaleras fijas o rampas a ambos vagones, las cuales
sean
seguras para los empleados cuando esten realizando sus tareas diarias."o
