Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that
employees were exposed to the hazard of explosion due to the presence of
high pressure gas
contained in tubing not rated for such use:
(a) Main Shop: Where Wirsbo's Cross-Linked Polyethylene Tubing is used for
compressed
air at 150 psi.
(b) Storage Area: Where Quest Polybutylene Potable Tubing is used for
compressed air at
150 psi.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT
METHODS TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS:
1. Ensure that all compressed air lines that are not rated for such use be
replaced by air lines
intended for and manufacturer approved for compressed gasses.
