Condition:Roof trusses were not properly braced in the top cord, web
member,
and bottom cord planes. Short pieces of lumber, "spacers", were used
between adjacent trusses to tie them together which is not permitted.
Ground to truss braces were not properly constructed, and only 2
braces were used when 5 were needed.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this
hazard is to
comply with the manufacturer's recommendations on how to properly brace
roof trusses or
follow the Truss Plate Institute's HIB-91 summary sheet.y
