Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees:
a.  On or about September 12, 2002, at jobsite located at 7800 S. 95th
Street, Hickory Hills,
Illinois, an employee working from an extensible boom aerial lift, was
exposed to injuries from
falls due to the lack of personal fall protection devices as required by
the American National
Standards Institute (ANSI A92.5-1992), Standard for Boom Supported
Elevated Work Platforms.
Among feasible means of abatement would be to comply with the American
National Standards
Institute (ANSI) A92.5-1992, Standard for Boom-Supported Elevating Work
Platforms and have
employees wear personal fall arrest equipment anytime that they are
elevated in the aerial lift.l
