Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of contact with a moving saw blade: a) Tool Room - The DoAll band saws #V-36 and #45 were not equipped with magnetic restarter or similar devices, as prescribed by the American National Standards, ANSI B11.10-1990, Section 5.2.3.4, that in the event of an interruption in the electrical supply would prevent the saw from restarting automatically when power is restored. A feasible means of abatement would be to provide a magnetic restarter or similar device as required by ANSI B11.10-1990. No abatement certification is required for this item.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed tothe hazard of being entangled into rotating machinery: a) Maintenance shop - The Rigid 300 power driven pipe threading machine was not equipped with a momentary contact device/constant pressure foot treadle control switch as prescribed by the American National Standards, ANSI B208.1 -1982, Section 4.4. A feasible means of abatement would be to provide a properly guarded momentary contact device/foot treadle control switch as required by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) B208.1 - 1982, Section 4.4. No abatement certification required for this item.
