Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
At the main entrance gate of Better Roads Asphalt Plant, one of the gates
falls over the
employee causing him the death. The employer did not verify the working
conditions of
the employee to provide him a safe place of employment, neither trained
him to
recognized an unsafe area of work. The employee was giving vigilance to
the asphalt
plant facilities.
Hazard: Stroke by a gate.
Among other correction methods, a feasible and acceptable method to
correct
this hazard
is to fix the gate and train the employees in the hazard recognition.
En la entrada principal de la planta de asfalto Better Roads, uno de los
portones cayo
sobre el empleado causandole la muerte. El patrono no verifico las
condiciones de trabajo
del empleado para proveerle un lugar seguro de empleo ni tampoco adiestro
a este a
reconocer lugares inseguros de trabajo. El empleado prestaba vigilancia a
la facilidades
de la planta de asfalto.
Riesgo: Golpeado por un porton.
Entre otros metodos de correccion, un metodo factible y aceptable para
corregir este
problema es arreglar el porton y adiestrar a los empleados en el
reconocimiento de
riesgos.miento
