Section 5(a)(1) of the occupational safety and health act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish
employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized
hazards that were
causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to the hazard of a collapse of wooden prefabricated roof trusses
that were not adequately
braced during erection:
Location: North end of the fitness center, 200 Oak Point Drive,
Middleboro, MA.
On 06/11/03 three employees were exposed to possible serious
injury due to a collapse of the wooden prefabricated roof trusses.
One method, among others, of feasible and acceptable methods to
correct this hazard would be to follow engineering design
drawings, calculations and reports developed by a professional
engineer for the temporary bracing of the wood prefabricated roof
trusses.cated
