On January 15, 2004, at the construction site located at the Savannah
Green Subdivision,
located in Urbana, Illinois 61802, employees were exposed to fall hazards
while working
from the platform resting on the forks of the rough terrain forklift
because while the rough
terrain forklift was left unattended, the engine was left running and the
wheels were not
blocked.  The employees were exposed to a fall of approximately 10'-0".
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard
is to:
a)ensure the operator stops the engine and blocks the wheels when leaving
the
rough terrain forklift unattended in accordance with ASME B56.6-2002,
American National Safety Standard for Rough Terrain Forklift Trucks.
