Labor and Employment Article, Section 5-104(a): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees: (a)Date of Violation:On or about 03/06/03 Location:Fabrication Shop, Outside Spray Area Condition:A polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe was used to transport compressed air into a airless spray gun at 120 p.s.i. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to encase the PVC pipe in a shatter-resistant conduit (preferably metal or ABS material) of sufficient strength to provide protection from external damage and deterioration, or completely replace the PVC pipe.ce
