Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards
that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that
employees were exposed to severe lacerations of the extremities while
cutting wood using a
gasoline-powered chain saw with a broken chain brake.  Among other
methods, one feasible
and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to repair and/or
replace the chain
brake and otherwise have the chain saw meet the requirements of ANSI
B175.1-1991 "Safety
Requirements for Gasoline-Powered Chain Saws" incorporated by reference as
specified in
section 1910.6:
