Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to being crushed by a vehicle falling from or rolling off the
automotive lift:
a)Service Area:  Two employees were working under the an improperly lifted
truck
when the truck shifted and dropped from the lift onto one of the
employees, on
or about August 10, 2004.
Feasible and acceptable methods for correcting this hazard include:
Conduct training on the auto lift as per ANSI/ALI ALOIM-2000, Section 4.2
Operator Training
and enforce the use of proper lifitng techniques as they apply to the
autoiomove lift.
