Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
Receive serious injuries due to mechanical problems in a waste collector
truck, plate
#HP5606, truck #644 located at Calle 1 Final Urb. El Paraiso, Ponce,P.R.
This truck
with defects or in any way unsafe had not been with-drawn from service
until restored
to save operating condition.  The truck had problems with the aceleration
and
brake
system.  Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement
methods to correct
this hazard is to with-drawn it until it can be safely operated.
Recibir heridas debido a desperfectos mecanicos en el camion recogedor de
basura, con
matricula HP5606, camion#644, localizado en la Calle #1 Final Urb. El
Paraiso,
Ponce,P.R. Este camion con defectos o en cualquier modo, inseguro, no
habia sido
retirado hasta haberse restaurado a las condiciones de operacion seguras.
Este camion
mostraba problemas en su sistema de aceleracion y frenos.
Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este
riesgo es retirar
el camion hasta que se repare o ponga a funcionar en condiciones seguras
de operacion.
