Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to the fall hazards associated with wire rope guardrail
systems not terminated:
Job site - Manulife building, 15th floor roof areas on the east and west
sides of the lighthouse:
The 1/2 inch wire rope top and mid guardrail passing through the end posts
were
not terminated with U-bolt wire rope clips as required by the
manufacturer, where
employees were exposed to fall hazard of twenty feet to the lower roof.
One feasible method of abatement among others would be to terminate the
wire rope by forming
an eye with the proper number and spacing of wire rope clips.g
