Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to the hazard of being struck by falling trusses as a result
of inadequate temporary
truss bracing during installation.  The first truss installed was not
provided with proper ground
bracing and the remaining trusses were not provided with proper lateral
and diagonal bracing
made out of 2 x 4 lumber.   Among other methods, feasible and acceptable
abatement methods
to correct this hazard include complying with the Building Component
Safety Information
booklet, BCSI-B2 Summary Sheet - Truss Installation and Temporary Bracing,
which is
published by the Wood Truss Council of America and the Truss Plate
Institute.
