Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees in that employees
were exposed to THE HAZARD OF Fire/Explosion:
a)Yard Area, on or about 8/9/04: Employee using a Petrogen oxy-gasoline
cutting system to cut bolts holding the gas tank supporting structure of a
school bus, when the oxygen hose ruptured causing a flame to appear at the
rupture point which in turn caused severe burns on the employee's legs.
ABATEMENT NOTE: One means of abatement would be to ensure that all
connections are gas tight and the hose is in good condition free of any
leaks as
specified in Compressed Gas Association Pamphlet G-4, Section 5.3.9.
