North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards from exposed live wires, ungrounded appliances, and improper use of temporary wiring: a) Operator failed to provide migrant farm workers with a temporary labor camp site that was free from electrical hazards: 1) Circuit breaker box, in kitchen, had no cover and live wires were exposed. 2) Wall outlet cover plate on wall next to kitchen sink, missing cover, exposing live parts. 3) Water Heater had wiring not approved by local building codes. 4) Ceiling light fixture in bathroom was hanging from the ceiling, exposing live parts. 5) Two burner stove not installed in accordance with State and local ordinances, codes, and regulations,was being utilized by migrant workers. 6) Water pump outside plugged into ungrounded outlet. 7) Temporary flexible drop cords was used in lieu of permanent wiring throughout the house. Among others, one feasible and acceptable method of abating these violations is to remove all temporary wiring and provide housing for migrant workers with permanent wiring that meets local building codes, the National Electric Code and any other applicable standards and or codes.rds
