Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to
employees
in that employees
were exposed to stuck-by/caught between hazards and resulting blunt force
trauma injuries from
potential truss collapses:
A.) Construction Site/Lutheran Girard Elderly Housing Project - Girard,
PA/  ---
On or About September 13, 2007:  The trusses were not braced in accordance
with
BCSI requirements in that lateral bracing had not been installed along the
top chord.
Only smaller sized temporary braces were installed on the interior of the
top chord.
Among other methods, feasible and acceptable means to correct the
condition noted
above include:
1. Complying with the BCSI booklets/pamphlets on truss safety (e.g. BCSI
1-03,
BCSI-B1 through B3).
2. Installing lateral braces along the top chord

pages 24,
31, 35.
