Section 6(a) of the Puerto Rico Occupational Safety and Health Act:  The
employer did not
furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from
recognized hazards that
were causing or likely to cause death or physical harm to employees in
that employees were
exposed to:
Seccion 6(a) de la Ley de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo de Puerto Rico:
El patrono no
proveyo empleo y un sitio de empleo libre de riesgos reconocidos que esten
causando o que
puedan causar muerte o dano fisico a los empleados, por cuanto empleados
estaban expuestos
a:
a. Receive injuries in foot due to fall down of different boxes,(alcohol,
syrup,Cokes...).
Employees pick-up these boxes to put them in the hand truck or in a small
food car.
They dont have safety shoes to protect their foot in case of falldown of
these boxes or
food products (Boxes or food material weight are from 20-50 Lbs, aprox.).
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this
hazard is provide safety shoes to all affected employees.
a. Recibir lesiones en los pies debido a cajas de diferentes articulos
(alcohol, syrups,
Coke...) que le puedan caer encima de los mismos. Los empleados levantaban
estas cajas
para colocarlas en los carritos para dichos propositos.  Ellos no tienen
zapatos de
seguridad para proteger sus pies en caso de que le cayeran encima dichas
cajas (Su peso
fluctua entre 20-50 libras aprox.).
Entre otros metodos, un metodo aceptable y posible para corregir este
riesgo es proveerle
zapatos de seguridad a todos los empleados afectados.
